Dogsledding Adventure in the Yukon 8 Nights / 9 Days

Trip Overview

This dog sledding experience takes you to the Yukon Territory – home to vast stretches of snow covered terrain that you’ll traverse by dogsleds. After learning the basics of mushing, journey along the Yukon Quest Trail, where every year a 300 mile race takes place, in addition to a number of exciting day trips to remote lakes and rivers.

Detailed Itinerary

ITINERARY
Day 1 – Your Canada Vacation Package Begins - Whitehorse
A Meet and Greet representative welcomes you to Whitehorse. You will be transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore the city of Whitehorse

Day 2 - Yukon Dogsledding Adventure Begins- Sky High Valley Ranch
This morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Sky High Valley Ranch. Enjoy views of the city before traveling to Sky High Valley Ranch 20 km south of Whitehorse on the Alaska Highway. Meet the dogs and learn the basics of dog sledding this afternoon. Dinner is included tonight. Overnight at lodge.

Day 3 – Sky High Ranch - Guided Dog Sledding on Vacations in Canada
Get ready to get behind an eager team of canines and explore the Yukon wilderness. Accompanied by a Canada adventure travel guide, enjoy dog sledding in the Jackson Lake area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Overnight at lodge.

Day 4 – Sky High Ranch - Guided Dog Sledding
Your dog sledding vacation package continues with a journey up McIntyre Mountain Road. Keep your eye our for wildlife as you never know what you might see. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Overnight at lodge.


Day 5 – Sky High Ranch - Guided Dog Sledding
Spectacular views of white winter landscape await today on your dogsledding adventure. Enjoy these views as you dog sled in the Bonneville Lake area. Mush your team of dogs through the soft powder snow and experience the thrilling rush of bounding over hills and through tranquil meadows. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Overnight at lodge.

Day 6 – Dry Creek- Guided Dog Sledding
Head out into the untouched wilderness for 3 days of winter camping in a wall tent camp at Dry Creek. The trail on this day follows the shores of Fish Lake, climbs and heads into the coastal mountain range to the south. Curl up at night by the woodstove for a cozy sleep in the wall tents. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Day 7 – You Cannot Get Enough Dog Sledding on Vacations in Canada
Weather permitting you will make a run to the top of the mountain above the tree line to Ptarmigan Flats. Be sure to keep your eyes open as you look for the Ptarmigan bird. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Overnight in wall tent camp.

Day 8 – Canada Vacation returns to Whitehorse
Today is your last day of guided dog sledding as you mush your team back to Sky High Ranch and say goodbye to the dogs. Lunch will be served at the ranch before being transferred back to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse for the night. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 9 – Departure
Your Canada vacation package in the Yukon concludes as you transfer from the River View Hotel to Whitehorse Airport.
