Watching Whales Hunt & Play

wildlife enthusiasts watch from the rail of a boat as a whale breaches just in front of them in the pacific just off British Columbia
There is nothing quite like getting close to a behemoth of the deep in its natural habitat. Whales are intelligent creatures and seeing them move in a pod, breathing in unison, gives you a feeling of connection with the planet that is hard to explain…

And there are few better places to see whales of all types than around the coasts of Canada or Alaska….
If you are really keen to see whales for an extended length of time we recommend a sea-kayaking trip to Johnstone Strait between Vancouver Island and the mainland. That is where you will see one of the highest concentrations of Orca Whales in the world and you will have the chance to study them at your leisure with experts.

Otherwise you should add day-trips to see whales in itineraries that pass through Victoria (Orca Whales), Tofino (mostly Grays but some Orca and Minke sometimes); Tadoussac in Quebec, and from more or less any sea port in Alaska or around Newfoundland or Nova Scotia.
