One year a friend of ours who runs a safari company in Africa came on a visit, and we took him on a sea-kayak trip to the west coast of Vancouver Island.
On his first day, a bald eagle swept down in front of his kayak and took a salmon. On day two we saw Humpback Whales leaping clean out of the water and one even went under our kayaks! And on day three – after numerous other wildlife sightings – he declared “Geez, this place is as good as Africa!”...
